androgyny or androgenius

Liberalism has paved its way quite on the forefront now, coming through a seam of array roads and many different approaches .All hail to be born in a century when the rough road has been cleared up and a salute to the great minds for bringing us up till here.

Now,as we stand in the free willed zone, we surely are venturing out more in our ways bringing about theories and conclusions. like they say progression is a never ending process.

So while we are all on the road of making new observations and taking the road less travelled , Ive found my own interesting topic to divulge over and its called the gender identity , i came to thinking about it ever since i read Virginia Woolf's Orlando and I'm rethinking now as i read about Casey Leger ,a 35 yr old,6 ft 2 inch tall woman who's making it big as a male model and then there is  Andrej pejic, the most beautiful man who is taking the androgynous trend by storm. Similarly there are more......

As we all know that gender dishevelment is quite the talk of our time ,where people have gracefully accepted the biological imprintment in their minds rather than what their physicality has to offer and the great fuss over it just seems to be diminishing day by day .
we longer live in an era where where the work of Mary Ann Evans was more appropriate to be known as George Elliot's work. The scenario now has quite changed like J.K Rowling going Robert Galbraith seems much like a personal preference.(just so, i personally would like the name of the fairer sex emblazoned on the cover)

As we ponder upon these gender issues , it makes me wonder how far would the gender relevance matter in ones identity or could we possibly be succumbing to societal norm as is for distinguished genders.

Like in Orlando's case where he switches gender over and over again growing tired of having to fit himself with those around him and as he grows up to be with an independent mind, he rejects the idea of conformity choosing to remain however he chooses to be.

New notions about masculinity and femininity seems to be reshaping the world of fashion.
Moving a long way from gender discrimination to gender preference are we now likely to ditch the 'gender' word  behind and  choose to be who we wish to be whenever we wish to be.

home

The dreary long nights and days has been keeping me awfully restless ,the point being i have nothing to do as I'm still figuring out some of the crucial matters in my life.....i must have have told you in the last post that i bade fare thee well to beloved Delhi and headed to Poona.....well, i should say that some things there did not quite work out for me there and yes I'm back to the capital with a bang......
I cannot yet figure out what it is about Delhi that i love so much when there is so much to hate about it.....i still remember 6 yrs back when i landed in the capital for my higher schooling ,as i headed to the cab and drove across chanakyapuri ,i had a feeling deep down in my heart that perhaps some day i would have a place of my own here.......well, i still survive on my dads money so a place of my own would perhaps take some more years.
Coming back to the awfully restless days has really lead out to some serious soul searching which i needed so much in my life and I'm happy some things  now seem much less blurry as compared to before and some things Ive just decided to just let it be and time will guide me so the next thing on the agenda is definitely making the most out of my present and not having to live with bitter regrets later.

So, this other day as i stood on the terrace with my friends around midnight talking about various things starting from my experiences in Poona ,the conversation lead to which is the best place in our country to stay. i fiddled with mumbai and Delhi........let me say Ive never been to mumbai but Ive always wanted to go there for as long as i can remember...in the end i said Delhi and why not, didn't i always wanted to have a place of my own here and work here and indulge in the endless freedom that the city offers and not bother about what your next door neighbour is upto or just walk around in Jammie's  not having to bother how i look like or just lie around crumpled in sheets for a long time just delving in my thoughts  and i could give you more reasons....
Let me say i love my hometown dearly but the idea of having to settle and work there just seems so hard to think of.....and that's exactly what i always thought of....but as i stood in the terrace that night and pondered about a lot of things i began to think about how and when did i began to thrust myself in the delhite circle so much that home just seemed like a vague idea.
Its true i love the capital so much but is the love so deep that i would rather choose 'it' than my own hometown? its also true that the hometown has some disappointments but are these disappointments so influential in my life that i could replace it with something else? above all is replacement so easy?
i am thankful to Delhi that its made an important part of what i am today and i absolutely adore all the good and unpredictable things the city has to offer but in between all the beautiful things Ive also come to realize that home is home and no matter how many flaws come with it, its just irreplaceable.
Its a place where parents and grandparents along with all the angel aunts and bitchy aunts coexist to make a family always present in moments of joy and sadness.

And the most important of all the lush mountains , the crystal clear skies, the pristine waterfalls, all those innocent faces ,the nooks and corners which we are all so familiarized with will always be the most important source of inspiration that has largely summed up the most important things in my life

The vague memories of my childhood spent with my late great grandma ,sitting on that particular guava tree while munching a ripe guava and imagining the life of butterflies and delving into the thoughts of what lay beyond the hills or the pre-adolescent days encountering a beautiful rainbow and fabricating a story in my head and then narrating it to the sister saying that its a plot of the movie i just watched and the long drives from Gangtok to Tashiding across lush mountains imagining uncountable things till the day it inspired me to drive miles and miles in another city in order to become a successful and experienced human being .

Living in Delhi for almost six yrs now and embracing new things along while discovering new dimensions has been great in its own way and even though it would be awesome to someday have my own place here in this city but my hometown is definitely the one place on earth that i would like to eventually settle down and build my safe abode.
cheers to home

life it is...

Its amazing how answers to the most complex things sometimes unravel so easily that it gets you thinking deep down so hard that it had all been so simple all the time and 'lord knows what i was thinking'or perhaps it is the circumstances that plays a major role in the changes that your heart gladly accepts.

Two of the most simple answers to what i always thought to be a complex situation came with two of the most simple scenarios that i never had imagined
As i sat in the cab early morning to catch my flight to Poona ,bidding adieu to Delhi with a heavy heart, halfway through and the tyre gets punctured .the cab driver tells me its a five minutes job and we are set to go go but somehow the five minutes become 15 minutes and the drivers futile try again and again prompts me to change the cab coz i definitely have a deadline. the problem arises when there is no cab around and time is fleeing......and the residents of Delhi will understand that booking another cab and for it to reach the exact location would surely take no less than 15 mins.
As i stood helplessly waiting for passerby cabs ,the driver calls me with a beaming face and swollen hands that it has been fixed and i hop back into the car......thereafter , he swishes the car and on the way as we engage in small talks he tells me "madam....problem to hogi na, life hai".
While i pondered on this simple fact spoken by him again and again , i could not help but nod in total agreement as to hell with we are all mortal beings no matter how superior we may have been with our accomplishments and achievements, it is not in our hands to control everything the way we want.
Sometimes, things happen whether we like it or not and all we can do is to accept it and learn to let go.
many times unpredictable and unimaginable things tend to occur . we definitely cannot undo the things that has been already done and all that remains further is how well can we handle such crises and emerge out unaffected, stronger and with a lesson well learnt.

It's rather ironic that sometimes a simple line spoken by a cab driver teaches us one of the important lessons in life when all our life we have been resorting to lessons of life from great visionaries and thinkers .
in my case maybe it was the dire situations i had been going through for quite a time and when the wise words from the driver came out at the right time, it surely instilled some peace within myself.............

the other lesson learnt would be a tad bit long to continue here so ill make it in the next post

me and my todays

where and when did i get so lost in  living the life that i loved and cherished every bit of it......
where did i lose all the acknowledgements that my friends and foes sought out in me....
how did i embrace the simple comforts so easily that i drowned myself into it .....
when did i adapt to the unimaginable so recklessly that flushing it now seems like a tough nut......
preaching to 'let go' seems so easy but why is practically letting go so difficult....?
who and what have i become.........?
to all the things I've despised , cheers!!! i can see their reflections gazing at me....
to all the things i thought I'm not, well.............i am
i wonder how did i succumb to it so easily? was there so less to my will power or perhaps none at all?
the calender welcomes September ,the time of the month when i am to blow candles merrily when another year loses its way and me shrinking shallow....
i have blamed and blamed and now all the blame gazes back at me, for i have crumbled what i had
is it to late to mend it all? most importantly how hard it may be to mend it all?
oh!! how i wish i could travel back time.....if only, wishes were horses...

i still cannot figure out how did i get so lost in living my life...
that my presence now is nothing more than a mere existence......
