for the unnoticed...

hello beautiful people....

like the cliche goes on "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder"......I've often found myself battling with the thought that how far could it really lie in the eyes of the beholder or till what extent could the beholder really dig out the beauty in 'beauty'.
Is beauty overrated? but such a thing as beauty can never be underrated i guess........
it is so easy to notice something so beautiful and appreciate it or fall under its spell which could sometimes positively enrich you or worse negatively disturb you.
Similarly there are these observers who dwell beneath and bring out the hidden beauty or simply appreciate beauty in their own various forms but what really irks me is what about all those beautiful things which lay about going unnoticed , there are so many beautiful things and people and even inanimate objects which we fail to notice .....
we along tread along our paths accepting and loving the things that we think we deserve little knowing that if we could have deviated a little in any ways there may have been a possibility that different things could have happened or maybe our life could could have taken a different course.....

coming to the outfit , I'm wearing gifted poncho from the younger sister, thrifted top, promod skirt , mango satchel and flatforms from the local boutique which got ripped off while i was trying the twirl below.

lastly, thanks to my lovely friend Azuali for the beautiful pictures......

After thistles and bristles....

I cannot believe its almost nearing two months of my stay here in an altogether different place and surroundings , it was quite tardy initially but like they say every cloud has a silver lining so my presents as of now are quite fulfilling and i couldn't be more content .
I think the best part of it all is that, i've opened myself and accepted a lot of things just the way they are and believe me when you focus on the goodness ,you do find goodness and your heart is filled with goodness and by saying this i'm not partaking in the norm of philosophical self help gestures rather its more of a simple self experienced thing.

Now when i look back i feel like i've had too many first hand presumptions and now they all seem such a myth, gosh!!! the way i overexerted my brains ......brrrrrrrrr

Having a hectic schedule here  keeps me busy and compels me to stick to a regimen so time just whooshes away and at the end of day you kind of feel a sense of contentment lurking around (yeses)

I've also been really digging about my subject these days, my subject that i have always loved so much for as long as i can remember but somehow kept it in a threshold these few years (owing to whatever madness i was going through) and now dusting to reopen it and falling back to the lingering lines do bring about nostalgia and unknown churns and butterflies (yes, that's what i like to call)

androgyny or androgenius

Liberalism has paved its way quite on the forefront now, coming through a seam of array roads and many different approaches .All hail to be born in a century when the rough road has been cleared up and a salute to the great minds for bringing us up till here.

Now,as we stand in the free willed zone, we surely are venturing out more in our ways bringing about theories and conclusions. like they say progression is a never ending process.

So while we are all on the road of making new observations and taking the road less travelled , Ive found my own interesting topic to divulge over and its called the gender identity , i came to thinking about it ever since i read Virginia Woolf's Orlando and I'm rethinking now as i read about Casey Leger ,a 35 yr old,6 ft 2 inch tall woman who's making it big as a male model and then there is  Andrej pejic, the most beautiful man who is taking the androgynous trend by storm. Similarly there are more......

As we all know that gender dishevelment is quite the talk of our time ,where people have gracefully accepted the biological imprintment in their minds rather than what their physicality has to offer and the great fuss over it just seems to be diminishing day by day .
we longer live in an era where where the work of Mary Ann Evans was more appropriate to be known as George Elliot's work. The scenario now has quite changed like J.K Rowling going Robert Galbraith seems much like a personal preference.(just so, i personally would like the name of the fairer sex emblazoned on the cover)

As we ponder upon these gender issues , it makes me wonder how far would the gender relevance matter in ones identity or could we possibly be succumbing to societal norm as is for distinguished genders.

Like in Orlando's case where he switches gender over and over again growing tired of having to fit himself with those around him and as he grows up to be with an independent mind, he rejects the idea of conformity choosing to remain however he chooses to be.

New notions about masculinity and femininity seems to be reshaping the world of fashion.
Moving a long way from gender discrimination to gender preference are we now likely to ditch the 'gender' word  behind and  choose to be who we wish to be whenever we wish to be.

home

The dreary long nights and days has been keeping me awfully restless ,the point being i have nothing to do as I'm still figuring out some of the crucial matters in my life.....i must have have told you in the last post that i bade fare thee well to beloved Delhi and headed to Poona.....well, i should say that some things there did not quite work out for me there and yes I'm back to the capital with a bang......
I cannot yet figure out what it is about Delhi that i love so much when there is so much to hate about it.....i still remember 6 yrs back when i landed in the capital for my higher schooling ,as i headed to the cab and drove across chanakyapuri ,i had a feeling deep down in my heart that perhaps some day i would have a place of my own here.......well, i still survive on my dads money so a place of my own would perhaps take some more years.
Coming back to the awfully restless days has really lead out to some serious soul searching which i needed so much in my life and I'm happy some things  now seem much less blurry as compared to before and some things Ive just decided to just let it be and time will guide me so the next thing on the agenda is definitely making the most out of my present and not having to live with bitter regrets later.

So, this other day as i stood on the terrace with my friends around midnight talking about various things starting from my experiences in Poona ,the conversation lead to which is the best place in our country to stay. i fiddled with mumbai and Delhi........let me say Ive never been to mumbai but Ive always wanted to go there for as long as i can remember...in the end i said Delhi and why not, didn't i always wanted to have a place of my own here and work here and indulge in the endless freedom that the city offers and not bother about what your next door neighbour is upto or just walk around in Jammie's  not having to bother how i look like or just lie around crumpled in sheets for a long time just delving in my thoughts  and i could give you more reasons....
Let me say i love my hometown dearly but the idea of having to settle and work there just seems so hard to think of.....and that's exactly what i always thought of....but as i stood in the terrace that night and pondered about a lot of things i began to think about how and when did i began to thrust myself in the delhite circle so much that home just seemed like a vague idea.
Its true i love the capital so much but is the love so deep that i would rather choose 'it' than my own hometown? its also true that the hometown has some disappointments but are these disappointments so influential in my life that i could replace it with something else? above all is replacement so easy?
i am thankful to Delhi that its made an important part of what i am today and i absolutely adore all the good and unpredictable things the city has to offer but in between all the beautiful things Ive also come to realize that home is home and no matter how many flaws come with it, its just irreplaceable.
Its a place where parents and grandparents along with all the angel aunts and bitchy aunts coexist to make a family always present in moments of joy and sadness.

And the most important of all the lush mountains , the crystal clear skies, the pristine waterfalls, all those innocent faces ,the nooks and corners which we are all so familiarized with will always be the most important source of inspiration that has largely summed up the most important things in my life

The vague memories of my childhood spent with my late great grandma ,sitting on that particular guava tree while munching a ripe guava and imagining the life of butterflies and delving into the thoughts of what lay beyond the hills or the pre-adolescent days encountering a beautiful rainbow and fabricating a story in my head and then narrating it to the sister saying that its a plot of the movie i just watched and the long drives from Gangtok to Tashiding across lush mountains imagining uncountable things till the day it inspired me to drive miles and miles in another city in order to become a successful and experienced human being .

Living in Delhi for almost six yrs now and embracing new things along while discovering new dimensions has been great in its own way and even though it would be awesome to someday have my own place here in this city but my hometown is definitely the one place on earth that i would like to eventually settle down and build my safe abode.
cheers to home

life it is...

Its amazing how answers to the most complex things sometimes unravel so easily that it gets you thinking deep down so hard that it had all been so simple all the time and 'lord knows what i was thinking'or perhaps it is the circumstances that plays a major role in the changes that your heart gladly accepts.

Two of the most simple answers to what i always thought to be a complex situation came with two of the most simple scenarios that i never had imagined
As i sat in the cab early morning to catch my flight to Poona ,bidding adieu to Delhi with a heavy heart, halfway through and the tyre gets punctured .the cab driver tells me its a five minutes job and we are set to go go but somehow the five minutes become 15 minutes and the drivers futile try again and again prompts me to change the cab coz i definitely have a deadline. the problem arises when there is no cab around and time is fleeing......and the residents of Delhi will understand that booking another cab and for it to reach the exact location would surely take no less than 15 mins.
As i stood helplessly waiting for passerby cabs ,the driver calls me with a beaming face and swollen hands that it has been fixed and i hop back into the car......thereafter , he swishes the car and on the way as we engage in small talks he tells me "madam....problem to hogi na, life hai".
While i pondered on this simple fact spoken by him again and again , i could not help but nod in total agreement as to hell with we are all mortal beings no matter how superior we may have been with our accomplishments and achievements, it is not in our hands to control everything the way we want.
Sometimes, things happen whether we like it or not and all we can do is to accept it and learn to let go.
many times unpredictable and unimaginable things tend to occur . we definitely cannot undo the things that has been already done and all that remains further is how well can we handle such crises and emerge out unaffected, stronger and with a lesson well learnt.

It's rather ironic that sometimes a simple line spoken by a cab driver teaches us one of the important lessons in life when all our life we have been resorting to lessons of life from great visionaries and thinkers .
in my case maybe it was the dire situations i had been going through for quite a time and when the wise words from the driver came out at the right time, it surely instilled some peace within myself.............

the other lesson learnt would be a tad bit long to continue here so ill make it in the next post

me and my todays

where and when did i get so lost in  living the life that i loved and cherished every bit of it......
where did i lose all the acknowledgements that my friends and foes sought out in me....
how did i embrace the simple comforts so easily that i drowned myself into it .....
when did i adapt to the unimaginable so recklessly that flushing it now seems like a tough nut......
preaching to 'let go' seems so easy but why is practically letting go so difficult....?
who and what have i become.........?
to all the things I've despised , cheers!!! i can see their reflections gazing at me....
to all the things i thought I'm not, well.............i am
i wonder how did i succumb to it so easily? was there so less to my will power or perhaps none at all?
the calender welcomes September ,the time of the month when i am to blow candles merrily when another year loses its way and me shrinking shallow....
i have blamed and blamed and now all the blame gazes back at me, for i have crumbled what i had
is it to late to mend it all? most importantly how hard it may be to mend it all?
oh!! how i wish i could travel back time.....if only, wishes were horses...

i still cannot figure out how did i get so lost in living my life...
that my presence now is nothing more than a mere existence......

FASHION INFINITE..!!

uncanny as it may seem are we breaking up from the ritualistic pattern of doing things?

Is it so that after attaining the celebrated heights of grandeur and doing everything religiously to reach there, we have realized that not everything that glitters is gold or  not everything that is perfect necessarily has to be perfect.
Gazing  across the recent fashion show photographs ,it’s interesting to note how fashion photographers are drifting away from the perfect soiree of indulgences to the utilitarian honchos and trying to bring about the best working class photo shoots and their sense of style. After all the two way dialogue concerning the world of fashion and its relationship to daily life does seem to have been brought into the picture.
Leafing across the magazine, its not unlikely to come across the beautiful long legged lass flashing out her best pose with the background bearing the most ordinary neighbourhood or the most common people for that matter.

Similarly it’s interesting to note how street fashion in the western countries have gone to become so much experimental with our own country paving its way forward.
If you come across minimal classic on one hand there is a bold portrayal of the unthinkable on the other.
The other day project runway(a show) caught me by surprise when the teenagers voted more for the unique futuristic prom dress as compared to the gorgeous perfect prom dress one could want for.

So, are we now ditching the conventional and heading towards the more unconventional zone? and if so how far are we willing to go?

As Alexander McQueen may have rightly quoted "its a new era in fashion - there are no rules".

To the little things in life

The speaking tree that features in the times of India is one column that i wouldn't like to miss most of the times.
There are many reasons why i enjoy the speaking tree but one of the most obvious reason is- amidst life's unending race and the deeds of mortals , it gives me a reason to sober up my morning with life's simple greatness that comes from great minds leaving behind a feeling of positivity lurking around in some part of me though there is some kind of hopelessness at times but that is again a good kind of hopelessness, if u know what i mean.

Coming across the simple greatness from great minds ,I recently came across 'zen and the art of cooking' by Marguerite Theopil, where she beautifully retaliates the art of cooking in much more deeper and meaningful lengths .
The beautiful observation and detailing couldn't help you but wonder the next time u head to the kitchen and notice the gentle rinsing of rice in cool water ;the regular action of slicing an onion ;the bursting freshness of  a ripe tomato; a satisfying thick batter;the hiss and splutter of tempering hot oil;the subtle aroma of peeling a cucumber ;the tangy scent while squeezing a lemon.

All of this let me thinking as to how many of us actually delve into the little things in our life that could be the source of pure joy and enjoyment.
These forgotten or neglected minor things could be the key for bringing about happiness and satisfaction with the tasks we perform and what other healing power could possibly exist other than a sense of innate joy and self satisfaction reeling inwards.

While one thought led me to the other and cliche as it may sound but i pondered as to when was the last time i let myself into the splattering rains and giggled like a retard (f.y.i  my idea of splattering myself in the rain would not necessarily mean like one of those flicks you've come across)-yes, it has been quite a long time for my memory does not seem to retain it but then again i wondered even if i let myself into it the next time could i  actually be able to let it all out and enjoy the splashes like nothing else mattered at that time
possibly yes, possibly no.....

In our hurried journey of life while we are are all proving and competing with others or to ourselves, we are left with no time or we just blatantly ignore to observe and enjoy life's grandeur emerging from the simple things .
As, swami Sivananda rightly said, put your heart , mind, intellect and soul even to your smallest acts .This is the secret of success.

I dedicate this post to the little magnificent glories of our life.....
until next time

twirling around

The past couple of days have been on reverse ends for me. It initially started with a plan to focus on my study material to as long as the night could take me, considering the upcoming semesters thrusting itself.
A few nights did work out but thereafter ,it was a night long of net surfing ,chit chats and catching up with things that seemed important to the least important ones until, the state of sleep takes me over stretching itself until late noon.
Should i call this this pre exam blues if such a thing exists?

Coming to the outfit , I'm wearing a D.I.Y' ed midi which was initially quite different to what you can see in the picture .Ive always wanted to wear a good flattering midi and blissful as i may be with these but another post with the perfect midi after i find it is always likely.
The shoe and top are pretty much what i picked up on a spur of action

Also i would like to share you my current favourite song by morrissey and those lines are exactly what I've been feeling a lotttt lately...............

stripes.......

Taking full advantage of the isolated neighborhood area, i did manage to take a few shots of myself clad with the ongoing viral stripes. my love with this pattern has come up since a long time owing to its quick fixes and little tricks, well....u would know what i mean if u do not exactly belong to the right side of the weighing scale.
Nevertheless, nothing stop us from donning the things that we love

Himachal (while we head to Manikaran and Kasol)

After a breath of fresh air across Mandi and Revalsar ,Our next destination was Kasol and since Manikaran was just about 20 mins drive from kasol ,we decided to go with it and now when i look back i feel that was one of the best things that i did. I would like to mention here that a lot of people go to kasol but not everyone visits Manikaran. I don't know if  its for everyone but i totally fell in love with the place and this is definitely one place which i would like to visit again and to all the people undergoing worldly nags ,pack your bags and spend a week here like seriously.
Situated on the foothills Manikaran is a sacred place for sikhs and hindus and both have their respective legends. The myths have have it that Shiva and Parvati meditated here for eleven thousand yrs....yessss!!

As for me, my quest  for the Shiva i envisioned in my mind really did satiate my soul after the image i came across here. Call it the shiva triology series in a fiction blend or the legends of Shiva that has always captured my attention for this mighty Mahadev .

The image of Shiva in his form with the fury of hot smoke clouding him  beneath the super hot spring was captivating. I did manage to take some pictures which i would be posting but the effect of the hot spring and my own lousy camera skills may not totally justify the pictures.

well....thereafter we head to kasol and its fun and food and beauty and blisssss......

i should stop here and post pictures now

Himachal (trotting around Mandi)

While continuing with my journey to Himachal my little sister planned a quick getaway to Mandi before we headed to kasol.
I was initially not so enthusiastic about it as it was supposed to be a visit to the annual fair and just as we landed Mandi and battled ourselves with the frantic crowd at the fair i was quite amazed at the amount of people who had actually turned up and the number of stalls that existed not forgetting the uncountable joy rides for people to enjoy, for a moment it brought back  childhood memories of fairs in my own hometown except this one was huge .
On inquiring further i got to know that this was called the 'Mandi Shivratri Fair'' .The festival's popularity is so widespread that it is also known as an international festival.
The Mandi festival or the fair is famous as the special fair transforms Mandi town into a venue of grand celebration when all the gods and goddessess, said to be more than 200 deities of the Mandi district assemble here.
We just happened to be present right on time when these deities were being carried off to their respective places and the number of deities all around and some in their rythmic  movements was a compelling sight. we did manage to join the procession for a brief time period  and it was wonderful.

on exploring the town ,i got glimpses of the city's old and rustic beauty comprising of its unique architectural designs and the river beas flowing across the town makes it more scenic. It so reminded me of the city of york in the united kingdom just so ancient and gorgeous. Mandi used to be a princely state until 1948.

moving toward the pictures............

Himachal (mesmerising Revalsar)

The so called spring break of my univ. wasn't much of a spring break for me (the ones who know me well enough probably understand what i mean to say) nevertheless, i totally made it a full fledged spring break by planning out an unexpected travel plan to one of the states i absolutely adore i.e. Himachal pradesh and this time the travel wasn't just about treating my eyes and soul with scenic beauties or adventure thrills like the last time in Manali and Rohtang pass.
While dwelling upon the massive beauties the state has to offer,it was my good fortune to come across the religion diversity as well and u have to agree there couldn't be a more appropriate situation to get myself more inclined upon these things as to feeling  it and experiencing it first hand rather than a thick book guiding you or else somebody preaching you about sinners and saints.
My first day began with a visit to the majestic 'Tso pema' lake in Revalsar which falls in Mandi disrict of himachal. This place holds a great significance to the hindus, sikhs and  buddhists and each of these religion has a surprisingly quite marvelling history to it.......

The beautiful 'Tso Pema' lake also known as the 'lotus lake'

one of the numerous carvings right below the giant statue of guru Padmashambhava

and that is how it looks like standing on the banks of Tso Pema lake.

more details of my journey until the next post....

while i hope

Rough times, troubled times and insecure zones are something that always looms around us at different point of our lives and you surely cannot deny that as mortals we are and no matter how much we try to shove it off our heads or stay aloof from these frailties ,our human emotions are binded up in such a manner that we end up succumbing to it somehow or the other.

These so called unfortunate times have to be faced by all variants irrespective of humans , nations or mother nature in its own course of depletion that we all are aware of.
Technology seems to be floating and a big salute to these mortals. seriously, can you get any more superior?  We have reached heights of amassing these guns and weapons and still it seems to be not enough .On the contrary, we are so much threatened by our very own creations that there are these so called huge summits relating to its safety measures.
Sometimes, when i ponder upon it, it feels like we have come such a long way progressing in every field possible that we know not where are we headed? and god forbid, a day when all that would be left are remnants with nobody to witness it.

Its high time we all think upon the subject of how far we really have come and to which direction that we would really want to head.

I came upon this brilliant exercise of keeping death upon your shoulders while reading Mitch Albom's, tuesdays with moorie. while discussing death ,Albom, beautifully asks us about having a bird on your shoulder that questions ,is today the day? am i doing all i need to do? am i being the person that i want to be?

I would want to precisely convey here that i'm not trying to lead you towards doomsday thoughts neither am i anybody to subject your judgements since we are all free willed creatures .aren't we?
what i’d actually ask for now is lets all brace up and open ourselves to the little changes that we could make whether it be the betterment for our own souls or for the differences that we could make around us and while we begin to take a step towards that change, we will realize how amazing our own potentials are.
lastly, all of us in our own ways have been bestowed with a beautiful life and thank heavens we are still very much sane and breathing so, cheers to how far we have come and a better and brighter hope for how far we will go.
